The only Weight Loss Formulas you’ll need (Diet Equation)
Weight loss is all about the numbers. In fact it is all about a single diet equation.
Calories in – Calories out = Weight Change
This equation is responsible for every single weight loss product that works. Its simple, elegant, and free. It can be understood by anyone, but is overlooked by nearly everyone these days. The fact that it is free is why no one promotes it. No one can make money off just telling your to eat less and move more. So they talk about other things. Hormones, specific exercise routines, diet plans, avoid these food and eat these foods. These all may play some part in weight loss but not nearly as big a role as Ci – Co = WC. So lets break it down so you can get started.

Calories In
These are the amount of calories you consume in a given period of time. I’m going to talk about calories per day, but you could go by any time period you want. This does require you to count calories. I know this sounds like a huge waste of time, but it really isn’t that bad. Sometime soon I’ll explain some tricks I use to Make it easier. Reducing your calories in is the easiest way to lose weight.
Calories Out
These are the amount of calories your body burns in a given period of time. Believe it or not you most likely don’t have a slow metabolism. Even if you do, it probably only varies a few percent from the norm. People act like your body can choose not to burn calories and will store them instead. Your body is a machine, and as long as it’s running it needs to burn fuel. I would suggest calculating your BMR (Basil Metabolic Rate) This is the amount of calories you burn by just living and breathing. So as long as you continue doing those 2 things you burn this amount of calories. Your calories out is your RMR plus the calories you burn from activity. You can increase your calories out by exercising, and being more active.
Weight Change
This is the amount of weight change you will achieve (in calories). If the number comes up positive then you are gaining weight. If it comes up zero then you are maintaining weight, and if it comes up negative then you are losing weight. Now it takes about 3500 calories to change your weight by a pound. That means to lose a lb per week you need to create a 500 calorie defecit each day. If you want to lose 2 lbs per week you need to create a 1000 calorie defecit per day.
Conclusion
So that’s all you need to know to get started losing weight. One simple equation to rule all the weight loss plans. In order to get the most out of this diet equation you should try to change both numbers in your favor. You want to reduce your calories in, and increase your calories out as much as you can. From my experience it is much easier to not eat that bag of chips than it is to spend 30 minutes on the treadmill working it off.

Its really that simple and the sad part is that its really that HARD for most people. The fact that so many people don’t know how many calories they eat per meal is amazing. Not that you should have to calorie count every meal but a meal at your favorite resturant is usually not the proper serving.
Very helpful post!
